Voting Methods

Please see below the information regarding how to vote by Special Ballot - which must be done via application in writing.

By Mail or email:

Any elector who cannot vote at an advance or election day poll can apply to vote by special ballot.

From July 30 to October 24 any elector may request an application in writing or by email to seo@rossburn.ca or call 204-573-5703.

A copy of government issued identification is required, such as a Driver's license.

A ballot package will be mailed out to you when they are ready, late in September. The ballot must be returned and received in the Municipal office by October 28, 2026.

In Person:

Electors may request an application in person at the Municipal office from September 30 to October 24, 2026. A copy of government issued identification is required. A sealed envelope ballot package may be given at that time if they are ready.

Please return the ballot package to the Municipal office as soon as possible and before the deadline date of October 28.

VOTING AS A NON-RESIDENT VOTER

For Municipal election only, non-resident landowners are eligible to vote in an election. In order to be eligible, the person must be:

· A Canadian citizen;

· At least 18 years of age on Election Day;

· A registered owner of land in the municipality for at least six months on Election Day.

A maximum of two non-resident property owners, per property, are permitted to vote in a municipal election. In order to vote, each of these voters must obtain written consent from a majority of the registered landowners, and file this with the senior election official. Consent forms can be obtained from the senior election official and must be presented at the time of voting.

When voting, you may also be required to provide proof of ownership to the voting official. Ensure you bring proof of ownership with you when voting.
